Buluowan

Wednesday, August 10, 2011

We head back to the van and are on our way to Buluowan.  http://www.taroko.gov.tw/English/?mm=5&sm=1&page=8#up I think Eva is saying “echo”, so we thought we would hear our voice echo, but never heard anything more about that. On the way in we see a big stone head that we think Eva says is their president.  We later learn it is just an aboriginal man.

We see a visitor’s center and exhibition hall with craft area and another building.  We are told we can watch a 20-minute movie, but it is in Chinese We take a few pictures and then decide to watch the movie and see how it is.  It is beautiful photography, but we missed out on whatever highlights of the area that were being discussed.  We stop in the visitor center and see an Aboriginal woman weaving.  We buy Kaylee a bracelet she made for $100 NT  (~$3USD).  We didn’t see much else to see around this location.  We later learned from Tonny that there is a place to stay here – Leader Village Hotel.
