Our first official stop on the tour was at the Confucian Temple. It was built in the 1600s and was the first Confucian Temple built. It is actually a compound of several buildings including an education institution. She told us how students were tested. Yvon told us there are no gods there and it is different from the other temples in that people don’t come here to ask for things.

Yvon told us there are no gods there and it is different from the other temples in that people don’t come here to ask for things.
We learned that all entry gates to temples have 4 columns and 3 entry passages. The buildings have been reconstructed after war and natural damage. Once a year the original bells and instruments are used for a celebration. We learned about the sacrifices that were originally made of cow, goat and sheep and saw the vessels used.
