Tokyo Bound

Friday, August 5, 2011

Once we got to Atlanta we had a  few hours before we started the longest leg of this trip - 14 hours to Tokyo. We headed to lunch at TGI Friday's for a poor rendition of an American comfort food - a last burger before heading to Asia. I'm thinking the food we'll have in the next week will be so much better!

Kaylee watches for our plane

There it is - ready to load up for Tokyo

Initially our pilot told us we may be early - only 13 hours and 12 minutes - a quick flight.  Announcements are now being made in Japanese and English.  The seats definitely have less leg room than we anticipated.  Kaylee is blessed here as her feet don't touch the ground.  Kaylee is patiently waiting until we are in the clouds to have her airline cookies.

They passed out menus and it looks like we'll eat well.  First service, midflight snack and pre-arrival meal.  Complimentary beer and wine doesn't hurt either.  We're pretty far back in the plane - row 51 with 9 people across.  There are quite a few planes waiting in line to leave, so we end up losing our early advantage.
